Health and safety policy
The Managing Director of Selectaglaze has produced the following statement of policy in respect of health and safety, in accordance with its duty under Section 2 (3) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and in fulfilling its obligations to both employees and the public who may be affected by its activities.
Selectaglaze commit to comply with:
Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 as amended (HSG65)
Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (L143)
Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015
HSE Guidance, and all associated regulations in pursuance of the company’s objectives.
It is the Company’s policy to ensure the Health and Safety of employees and all those likely to be affected by the Company’s activities. The Company undertake to:
Consult with employees on Health and Safety.
Ensure staff have access to adequate welfare facilities (such as toilets and washing/rest areas).
Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment.
Ensure that employees are competent to do their job through provision of adequate information, instruction and training.
Prevent accidents and work related illness.
Control any Health and Safety risks.
It is the duty of the management to do everything reasonably practicable to prevent injury and ill health, and it is equally the duty of each employee to exercise personal responsibility for his or her own safety and that of others. This duty is required by law, and the Company requires the full co-operation of all employees. Employees have the right to refuse unsafe work or work that may cause harm.

Ensuring all timber and paper products are environmentally certified

Selecting vehicles with are ultra-low emission or as low emission as is practical encouraging safe and efficient driving through training and maintaining regular service cycles
Adopting strategies to reduce the environmental impact of business travel through use of local suppliers where possible
Monitoring and seeking ways to reduce energy usage.
Investing in energy efficiency measures for company premises.
Providing information, instructions and training to its employees on sustainability issues
Maintain best practice conditions of employment for its own employees, including equal opportunity for all, encouraging diversity, development of employees through training and development
Maintaining a best practice Health and Safety regime and promoting wellbeing and a good work life balance
Ensuring that fair procurement practices are applied and suppliers are paid on time
Adhering to any Government recognized trading sanctions
Avoid trading with suppliers which don’t have the same social ideals

Selectaglaze Ltd is the market leader in Secondary Glazing, thus always striving to consistently progress in the area of continuous improvement.
Objectives
Collate evidence which either contains, or make reference to, all mandatory requirements of the FORS Standard
Where policies and procedures are held within other documents or manuals, these will be referenced, easily accessible and retrievable
Review all policies and procedures at least annually
If applicable, policies and procedures will contain specific contractual requirements where these are in excess of the requirements set out in the FORS Standard

Scope
The scope of the organisation is the manufacturing, supply and installation of secondary glazing and associated timber grounds.
Selectaglaze Ltd is committed to implement and maintain the FSC® Chain of Custody management system. A copy of the Policy Statement is readily available to interested parties on request.
Selectaglaze Ltd is committed to sourcing wood or wood fibre from well managed forest units in accordance with FSC® standards for fibre and controlled wood.
Selectaglaze Ltd is committed not to be directly or indirectly involved in the following activities:
Illegal logging or the trade in illegal wood or forest products;
Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations;
Destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations;
Significant conversion of forests to plantations or non-forest use;
Introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations;
Violation of any of the ILO Core Conventions, as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, 1998. Our objective is to achieve the highest possible standards regarding fibre sourcing and chain of custody control of wood from well managed forest units.
